Spring is supposed to be here soon, however, in New York, it seems like it is not even close. Hopefully, we will get better weather soon. It is way too cold here. I have noticed something… that people in NY (including myself) always have something to say about the weather. It doesn’t matter what the weather is doing, we will say something about it. At least this is my experience from living in NY all my life.
As for the update, I have been tracking and exercising more. There has not been any change in my plateau as of yet. I am going to be trying more extended fasts and I may also try OMAD (one meal a day) to try to break past this stall. I may just need to get deeper in ketosis to break past the stall. We have also been taking my vitamins at bedtime and this is helping us sleep better.
We are creeping ever so close to our two year keto anniversary. It makes me laugh when I see articles that say you shouldn’t stay on keto any more than 30 to 90 days. At that point, you would be just getting fat adapted. What would be the point if you go off when you are just switching over to burning ketones?
This way of eating is very much sustainable and good to stay on. I am, of course, not a doctor, however, there are many doctors that say the same thing that have been on keto for years also and tell their patients to do the same. Do your research before going on any new eating plan, especially this one. You need to know what you are getting into because it is rough at first. As long as you are aware of that when you start it will make it easier to get past all the side effects that happen in the beginning. It is so worth the effort though. 😁

First off, thank you April for closing out your March blog post with that dragon quote. I love dragons and I thought that was pretty funny.
Secondly, starting off the new year with an exercise program has not been going too well. I only worked out a couple of times this year and it is already March! Well, I still do my morning yoga/tai chi routine, but that does not really count as I have been doing that all along. I need to really buckle down, make a schedule, take action, and stick to it.
Other than that I have just been enjoying the keto lifestyle. Like April said, we are coming up on our two year keto anniversary and it has been great. I have been hovering around my ideal weight of 175 pounds, give or take a pound or two a week. We are still enjoying all the healthy, yet tasty foods each day, not to mention all the awesome keto-friendly recipes/meals April creates.
To close this post out I thought I would mention our Mixed Berry Keto Cheesecake was featured on the Highfalutin’ Low Carb YouTube channel against Headbanger’s Kitchen Berry Swirl Cheesecake. It was a contender in the “Low Carb CHEESECAKE BATTLE – The Best Keto Cheesecake Recipe!” I won’t give away the ending, but it was an interesting episode and great to be highlighted there. This is definitely one of my favorite desserts that April makes!
